Ghostcrawler lays forth a smackdown

http://blue.mmo-champion.com/18/9679739397-nerf-philospohy-gc-can-agree.html

Incase you missed it on MMO champion. A whining thread was posted about the DK nerfs.

Basically ghostcrawler came out and explained how the devs determine what to nerf and how to nerf it.

What was interesting was the numbers and classes he threw out for examples. 2.5-3k dps, hunters dks, warriors, druids, and warlocks. Hmm why are pet classes who are supposed to be DPS grouped in with hybrids? Not to start a hybrid war, but that was interesting to come from a dev.

Does that mean all other dps classes are up around 4k? I surely hope not.

We'll see how it goes.

I'm anxious to see if they're actually planning on letting cat druids spec specifically for dps and be able to dish out rogue-like dps. It would sure be an interesting twist on the class.

Why are hunters and warlocks considered hybrids? because of their pets? all they do is dish damage; shouldn't that be a dps class? I can understand how shamans, druids, and paladins are considered hybrids

That was what threw me off, he could have just been throwing out random class names that do damage. But still, locks and hunters should be able to do a bit more dps than a hybrid, agreed?

I do agree. IMO pure dps classes like Mages, Hunters, Rogues, and maybe Warlocks shouldn't be outdamaged by hybrids. This isn't necessarily how it plays out though.

My side rant- I wish the game mechanics would rely less upon gear and more upon talent spec and skill.
